Program Description

The Executive Master of Health Administration (EMHA) is a graduate program at the College of Business, University of Doha for Science & Technology in collaboration with Telfer Management School at Ottawa university. The EMHA blends healthcare and business management to develop senior leaders, focusing on innovation, data analytics, evidence informed policy, and effective leadership for Qatar’s evolving health sector and beyond. It integrates management, analytics, and strategy skills through real-world cases, offering flexibility with virtual learning and a Capstone project for practical experience.

Program Duration:

Two years

Admission Requirements:

  1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher education institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, along with at least five years of full-time administrative experience in the healthcare field.

  1. The required score on the UDST English Placement Test or a passing score from another approved internationally recognized English language test, as validated by the Admissions & Registration Directorate; OR

     

  2. A valid (within two years) IELTS Academic Test Report Form with an overall band of 6.0 with no individual band score (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) below 6.0; OR

     

  3. A valid (within two years) TOEFL score of 72 and minimum scores of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking, and 17 in writing.

  1. Academic transcripts related to the Bachelor degree and/or post graduate diploma presented upon application, and

     

  2. Employment certificate from current employer indicating minimum full-time employment experience in years.

     

  3. Preference is given to applicants with significant work experience in the healthcare sector, particularly when they show evidence of management responsibilities and career progression.

Within a few years of graduation from the Executive Master of Health Administration (EMHA) program, graduates will be able to:

PEO01.Demonstrate advanced knowledge of healthcare management principles to support effective leadership, decision-making, and performance improvement across healthcare organizations and systems.

PEO02.Analyze health policy, governance, and strategic frameworks at organizational, system, and national levels to support evidence-informed healthcare decision-making.

PEO03.Apply value-based, population-oriented, and social determinants of health perspectives to improve health outcomes, service integration, and system sustainability.

PEO04.Evaluate complex healthcare challenges using ethical reasoning, critical thinking, and professional judgment to support responsible leadership and governance.

PEO05.Engage in continuous professional development and lifelong learning to adapt to evolving healthcare systems, innovation, and leadership demands.

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) describe the knowledge, skills, and competencies a graduate can demonstrate immediately upon graduation.

Upon successful completion of the Executive Master of Health Administration (EMHA) program, graduates will be prepared to:

SLO01. Analyze healthcare organizations and systems using advanced management, governance, and performance frameworks to support strategic decision-making across the continuum of care.

SLO02. Critically evaluate healthcare governance, policy, and system design in Qatar in comparison with selected international health systems to inform evidence-informed and contextually appropriate management decisions.

SLO03. Design value-based, population-oriented, and socially accountable healthcare strategies that address social determinants of health, equity, and system sustainability.

SLO04. Evaluate complex healthcare challenges using ethical reasoning, critical analysis, and collaborative leadership approaches to guide responsible decision-making in patient-centered and interdisciplinary environments.

SLO05. Apply data analytics, health economics, informatics, and project management tools to design, implement, and evaluate innovative solutions that improve healthcare quality, performance, and outcomes.
