    Registration FAQ's

Self-Service Registration is UDST's method of registration implemented in Spring 2022 whereby students can enroll in and manage their classes through their Student Self-Service portal. It allows students to do the following during the Registration Period for each semester:

    • Plan their courses for the current and future semesters
    • Enroll in courses
    • Select which section of a course in which to enroll (if multiple sections are available)
    • Drop courses
    • Swap sections of a course
    • View their schedule
    • Pay tuition and fees

Self-Service Registration is available to eligible students through their Student Self-Service portal during the Registration Period for each semester. For instructions on how to use Self-Service Registration, please go to the Registration page of the UDST website. Please refer to the Registration User Manual and/or Registration Video for detailed instructions to assist you.

Registration is available through the Student Self-Service portal. However, academic advising is available through Student Central Services (SCS) Academic Advising. Visit the SCS booth in the atrium of Building 3 between 8am and 3pm (9am and 2pm during Ramadan). If you have advising questions, you can also email advising@udst.edu.qa

Students will need access to their Student Self-Service portal, as well as their login information (Student ID and password).

Your User ID is the Student ID number that was assigned to you when you applied to UDST. It is printed on your Student ID card. If you are a new student, you will find your Student ID number in the email you received after you submitted your application.

If you have forgotten your password, go to the Student Self-Service portal and click Reset Password to send an SMS to your mobile number on your student record.

Registration begins prior to each semester and is open until the last day to register published on the Registration page. The Registration Schedule will be published on the Registration page of the UDST website, and notification of registration opening will be sent to students via SMS.

There can be a number of reasons that Self-Service Registration is not available for you:

POSSIBLE REASONS WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT
You may be entering the wrong Student ID and/or password If you do not remember your Student ID, please contact the Admissions and Registration Directorate by calling 4495-2225, Sunday-Thursday 7:30am-3:00pm (9:00am-2:00pm during Ramadan) or emailing RegistrationHelp@udst.edu.qa .
You tried to register before your eligible date The date registration opens for you is based on the number of credits you have earned in your current program. Once registration opens for your level, it will remain open until the last day to register. Check this page of the website for your registration opening date.
Your student record is not active You may not yet be admitted, or you may have previously been Academically Dismissed or Discontinued and your student file is no longer active. Please check with the Admissions and Registration Directorate to identify the reason for inactivation and to determine if you are eligible for admission or re-admission. Call 4495-2225, Sunday-Thursday 7:30am-3:00pm (9:00am-2:00pm during Ramadan) or email RegistrationHelp@udst.edu.qa .
You have a registration 'hold' on your record You may have outstanding admission requirements that must be met, or there may be some other reason you are not eligible to enroll. To identify the reason for the 'hold', return to the Student Homepage in your Student Self-Service portal and click the Tasks tile. The 'hold' must be resolved before enrolling.
You have completed all Foundation Program requirements but do not yet see your credit program structure Students who have completed all Foundation Program requirements need to be transferred to the program originally applied for after Final Grade processing has been completed. The date your program should be available for registration is listed in the Registration Schedule on the Registration page of the website.
You do not have a program structure assigned to you in the Self-Service Registration system

If you are a visiting student, you will not be assigned to a program of study and will need to have your course(s) added manually for you by the appropriate College.

There can be a number of reasons for error messages. Please refer to the Common Registration Errors document on this page to find out why you are getting the error message and what you need to do to resolve the issue.

Academic Advising is available through Student Central Service (SCS) Academic Advising or by contacting your assigned faculty academic advisor (viewable in your Student Self-Service portal). You can also visit the SCS booth in the atrium of Building 3 between 8am and 3pm (9am and 2pm during Ramadan) to receive in-person drop-in advising. Advising questions can also be sent to advising@udst.edu.qa .

Non-sponsored students can pay at the time of registration or choose to pay at a later date prior to the end of the semester. If fees are not paid by the end of the semester, students will be allowed to register in the following semester under the condition that they pay 80% of the outstanding fees by the end of the Add/Drop Period. Students who fail to do so may be automatically dropped from all courses and will not be able to attend classes.

Sponsored students do not need to pay as long as their sponsoring company has sent the details of their sponsorship to the Sponsorship Specialist at the Admissions and Registration Directorate before the start of registration.

To ensure online payment is easier for student, you may pay with your credit card or debit card. We also offer students the opportunity to enroll now and pay later. At the time of Self-Service Registration, you may pay in part or in full, or you may defer your payment to a later date. You can also come in to the Finance Office to pay in person. Cash, however, is not accepted.

Non-sponsored students can opt to pay their fees for the current semester at a later date but before the end of the term. At least 80% of all outstanding fees from previous semesters must be paid by the end of the Add/Drop Period to avoid being dropped from all courses.
