What is Sponsorship?
A sponsorship is a financial support program offered by government entities, semi-government organizations, private companies, and other institutions to eligible students pursuing their studies at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST).
Unlike scholarships, sponsorships are provided by external organizations that invest in students as future employees. In return for financial support during their studies, sponsored students are typically required to work for their sponsoring organization after graduation for a specified period, in accordance with the sponsor's policies and agreement.
Students are encouraged to explore sponsorship opportunities with organizations that align with their career aspirations and academic interests, allowing them to gain financial support while preparing for future employment.
Who Can Apply?
Sponsorship opportunities vary by sponsoring organization and may be available to:
- Qatari high school graduates.
- Current UDST students.
- Employees of government entities, semi-government organizations, or private companies pursuing further education.
- Other applicants who meet the eligibility requirements established by the sponsoring organization.
Each sponsor determines its own eligibility criteria, academic requirements, and application process.
How to Apply
To obtain a sponsorship, students should follow these steps:
- Apply for admission to UDST and obtain an Acceptance Letter.
- Research organizations that offer sponsorships for your chosen academic program or field of study.
- Contact the organization's Human Resources department or visit its official website to learn about available sponsorship opportunities, eligibility requirements, and application procedures.
- Complete the sponsor's application process and fulfill any required assessments or interviews.
- If approved, the sponsoring organization will officially notify UDST by submitting a sponsorship confirmation through the appropriate communication channel.
Once the sponsorship has been confirmed, UDST will update the student's sponsorship status accordingly.
Maintaining Your Sponsorship
Sponsored students are expected to meet both the University's academic requirements and any additional conditions established by their sponsoring organization.
Students should:
- Maintain satisfactory academic performance and meet the minimum GPA required by their sponsor.
- Attend classes regularly and comply with the University's attendance policy.
- Follow all academic and student conduct regulations at UDST.
- Complete their studies within the approved study plan and expected graduation timeline.
- Comply with all terms and conditions outlined in their sponsorship agreement.
Failure to meet the sponsor's requirements may affect the continuation of the sponsorship.
