College of General Education

Academic/our Colleges

The College of General Education offers educational programs in STEM & TVET Education, as well as a wide range of introductory courses of the UDST General Education Requirements, which are embedded in all undergraduate programs.

The College Programs prepare future educators to deliver interdisciplinary STEM education in diverse and dynamic learning environments. Aligned with international standards and QNV 2030, these programs promote interdisciplinary teaching approaches, critical thinking, technology integration, and culturally responsive pedagogy. Through rigorous coursework, graduates are equipped to design and implement forward-thinking STEM & TVET curricula that inspire learners, enhance engagement, and address diverse educational needs.

The General Education Requirements, which are grouped in six thematic clusters -  Experiential Learning, English Communication, Mathematics & Natural Sciences, Research Methods & Quantitative Analysis, Global Awareness & Regional Challenges, and Social Sciences, Humanities & the Arts - introduce students to the distinctive pedagogies and learning approached common to the science & technology disciplines, with a particular focus on applied and experiential learning.

Common courses in mathematics, quantitative analysis, natural sciences, research methods, and English Communication, assist students in acquiring essential knowledge and skills, emphasizing critical thinking and problem-solving. Selected courses in the sciences, social sciences, humanities and the arts will provide students with the opportunity to become more aware of global and regional challenges and to explore the wider social implications of an increasingly diverse and interconnected world. This approach aligns with the development of personal and social responsibility needed to cultivate and enhance both intellectual growth and practical competencies.
