LIBRARY STUDY ROOM BOOKING PROCEDURE

1.0 DEFINITIONS SPECIFIC TO THIS DOCUMENT
1.1 Capitalized Words and phrases used in this procedure document and not otherwise defined here have the meanings assigned to them in the Use of Library Space Policy (PL-ST-22).
1.2 The following words and expressions are specific to this document and shall have the meanings hereby assigned to them:
1.2.1 UDST Library Website: Website outlining the resources and services offered by Library Services Directorate; https://library.udst.edu.qa.
1.3 Where the context requires, words importing the singular shall include the plural and vice-versa.
1.4 Where a word or phrase is given a particular meaning, other parts of speech and grammatical forms of that word or phrase have corresponding meanings.
2.0 Procedure Purpose
2.1 To support Use of Library Space Policy (PL-ST-22) by Library Services Directorate. The following procedures are to be read in conjunction with the aforementioned policy.
3.0 Procedure Statements
3.1 Students are encouraged to book Study Rooms independently, but may request Library Service Directorate Staff assistance when needed. Study Rooms may be reserved using any electronic device with an internet connection.
3.2 In order to book a Study Room, navigate to the UDST Library website using the URL: https://library.udst.edu.qa, and follow these steps:
3.2.1 Select “Main Library” from the Library website’s left navigation menu;
3.2.2 Select “Study Rooms” from the dropdown menu;
3.2.3 Scroll to the bottom of the Terms and Conditions page and select the type and location of Study Room required;
3.2.4 Individual (1-2 people) and Group Study Rooms (3-8 people) are available in the Main Library (Bldg. 14);
3.2.5 Individual (1-2 people) and Group Study Rooms (2-4 people) are available in the Learning Commons (Bldg. 3);
3.2.6 Using the dropdown menu, select the date for the required Study Room booking. Only available dates will appear;
3.2.7 Using the check boxes, select the time of the required booking. Students may reserve Study Rooms for up to a maximum of TWO hours daily;
3.2.8 Read the Terms and Conditions. Once completed, select “Continue”;
3.2.9 Fill in form details, with the following information:
3.2.9.1 First name;
3.2.9.2 Last name;
3.2.9.3 UDST email address;
3.2.9.4 Student ID Number;
3.2.9.5 Name of other Students (if applicable);
3.2.9.6 Other Student’s ID number (if applicable);
3.2.10 Select “Submit booking”;
3.2.11 Email confirmation of Study Room booking will be sent to UDST email address;
3.2.12 To cancel Study Room booking, select cancellation link in email confirmation.
