Security Awareness Training

security banner

The University is deploying Hoxhunt, a human‑centric cybersecurity training platform, to strengthen the knowledge and preparedness of its faculty, staff, and employees. This initiative, managed by the IT Directorate, drives awareness of cybersecurity threats and engages personnel with adaptive modules to recognize and respond to emerging risks. The platform personalizes training to each learner's role and behavior, reinforced by ongoing simulated phishing exercises. By staying ahead of evolving cyber risks, this program works to foster a security‑conscious culture across the institution, directly reducing vulnerabilities and strengthening the overall cybersecurity posture of the University.

Steps to Access Your Cybersecurity Training

Open your web browser and go to the Training Dashboard.

  1. When prompted, enter your UDST email address (e.g., yourname@udst.edu.qa ) and click Single Sign‑On.
  2. You will be redirected to the sign‑in page. Log in with your usual UDST network username and password (Single Sign‑On); no separate platform password is needed.
  3. Once signed in, you will land on your training dashboard, showing your assigned training modules.

Single Sign‑On is enabled for UDST. You will always log in with your regular UDST credentials.

The training portal has multiple tabs you can navigate between. The available tabs are Dashboard, Training, Library, and Badges.

By default, you will land on your Dashboard when you log in. This page gives an overview of your assigned training and your recent phishing simulation activity. The Activities section shows your past simulations along with a preview and the number of stars you earned for each. If you've missed a training opportunity, the Earn more stars section highlights up to two pending items you can still complete to catch up.

Training that has been assigned to you is listed under this tab. You do not need to finish a training package in one sitting; you can leave it and resume later from where you stopped. Completing an assigned Security Awareness Training package earns you up to three stars, tracked on your Dashboard.

See how you rank against your colleagues based on the number of stars you've collected. The platform tracks an Individual Leaderboard as well as a Country Leaderboard, both updated quarterly and all‑time. This tab also shows your current reporting streak, the number of simulations you've successfully reported in a row.

Track your progress with Achievements, earned by completing training and successfully reporting simulated phishing emails. This tab shows the achievements you've already unlocked as well as the ones still in progress.

If you experience any technical difficulties with the training platform, or have general questions about the Cybersecurity Training & Awareness Program 2026, please submit a request through IT Helpdesk or contact the Help Desk at 4495‑2470.
