NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY
1.0 Definitions
1.1 The following words and expressions have the meaning hereby assigned to them:
1.1.1 Employee: Any person with an employment contract directly with the University.
1.1.2 Student: A person who is presently enrolled at the University in a Credit Course or who is designated by the University as a Student.
1.1.3 University: University of Doha for Science and Technology, established by Emiri Resolution No. 13 of 2022.
1.2 Where the context requires, words importing the singular shall include the plural and vice-versa.
1.3 Where a word or phrase is given a particular meaning, other parts of speech and grammatical forms of that word or phrase have corresponding meanings.
2.0 Policy Purpose
2.1 This Non-Discrimination Policy is crafted in alignment with the principles and spirit of the Constitution of the State of Qatar. This policy emphasizes the importance of an inclusive and welcoming campus community. It also informs the University community about protected statuses and establishes that discrimination, harassment, and retaliation are not tolerated.

4.1.1 University is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment and endeavors to make educational and employment decisions based on individuals’ abilities and qualifications, as defined in relevant policies and procedures.
4.1.2 University prohibits discrimination, harassment, and retaliation on the basis of gender, race, language, or religion, in line with applicable legislation, public policies, and University policies.
4.1.3 University prohibits discrimination based on any other protected status as required by applicable laws and regulations.
4.2 Governing Principles
In the interest of providing a fair process, preserving privacy, and preventing retaliation, the following principles will be observed:

4.3 All members of the University are responsible for upholding and promoting this Non-Discrimination Policy, including promptly reporting any incidents of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation to the appropriate University office.
4.4 Sanctions and Remedial Measures
Sanctions or remedial measures for findings relevant to this policy will take into account the severity and impact of the conduct, the respondent’s previous disciplinary history, and the purpose of this policy.
5.0 Procedures
5.1 The President will ensure that related procedures are developed for the implementation of this Policy.
