Welcome message from the Dean
Thank you for visiting the information pages of the College of General Education. On behalf of the academic team and staff of the College, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to our prospective and current students, interested parents, colleagues, members of the public, and UDST graduates.
The College of General Education fulfills an essential role in the academic journey of all students at the University as the home of their first-year experience, where they are introduced to a wide range of subjects which form the basis of theoretical and applied knowledge acquisition in Mathematics, the Natural Sciences, English language Communication, Social Sciences and the Humanities. The courses offered by the College are an integral part of every undergraduate program and are referred to as the General Education Requirements.
Through a curriculum grounded in experiential and active learning, students develop essential academic and transferable skills, including research, quantitative analysis, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving. Students are also encouraged to engage with selected courses that promote global awareness and regional understanding, to appreciate the social dimensions of an increasingly interconnected world.
CGE faculty bring diverse international perspectives and disciplinary expertise, united by a shared commitment to academic excellence, student success, and inclusive learning.
The College of General Education values every opportunity for collaboration, applied research, and partnerships with the broader community we serve.
