How to Apply
How to Apply to UDST
Thank you for your interest in the University of Doha for Science and Technology. Follow the six steps below, from choosing your program to receiving your admission decision.
Step 1
Choose Your Program
Explore UDST's programs and decide what you want to study.
- Bachelor's, Advanced Diploma and Diploma: choose up to three programs, in order of preference.
- Master's: apply to one program per admission cycle.
- Review the admission requirements for each program you select.
- Check the application deadlines for your intended term.
- Some programs, such as selected Digital Communication and Media Production programs, require a portfolio.
Step 2
Prepare Your Documents
You will upload all documents in the online application. They must be clear, complete and valid.
- High school certificate
- Official high school transcript
- MoEHE equivalency letter (private or international school graduates)
- Valid passport copy
- Valid Qatar ID (QID), if applicable
Apply with your Grade 11 or Grade 12 first-semester results. Submit your final transcript once you graduate. Offers made before then are conditional.
- Bachelor's degree certificate
- Official university transcript
- Valid passport copy and QID, if applicable
- CV, recommendation letters or professional licensure, where required
If you have taken post-secondary courses at another institution, please request your official transcripts and course outlines to be sent directly from your previous institution to [email protected] for evaluation of transfer credits/exemptions.
Upload clear scans (PDF, JPEG or PNG) with short file names, e.g. Passport.pdf. Documents that are not in English need an official English translation.
Step 3
Check If You Need Placement Testing
English and Mathematics placement tests are required unless you are exempt. You book your tests inside the online application, in the Book Placement Test section (Section 8).
| IELTS Academic | 5.0 overall, no band below 5.0 |
|---|---|
| TOEFL iBT | 49 overall, no section below 12 |
| SAT | 480 in Math and in English |
| ACT | 19 in Mathematics |
- UDST placement scores are valid for two years.
- A 30-day waiting period applies between attempts.
- Scores must be valid when you apply; UDST may verify them.

Step 4
Apply Online
Create your account, complete the application, pay the fee, then submit.
- Select New Applicant and choose your residency status.
- Enter your QID (or passport number if you live outside Qatar) and your personal email (use one you check regularly: all updates are sent there), then create your password.
- Your Temporary ID appears on screen straight away. Keep it safe: you will use it to sign in until you receive your UDST Student ID.
- Select Continue to My Applications to start your application right away.
Select Existing Account and sign in with your Student ID (beginning with 600) or your Temporary ID.
Please do not create another account. If you cannot sign in, use Forgot ID or Password. UDST will never email you your password.
The online application has 12 short sections. Complete every section and upload your documents, then pay the QAR 300 application fee (non-refundable) in the last section.
Paying the fee does not submit your application.
When you return from payment, select Submit on the same page. The system shows anything still missing.
After you submit, you will receive a confirmation email. Check your junk folder if you do not see it.
Step 5
Track Your Application
Follow your application and complete anything outstanding in the Applicant Self-Service Portal.
- Sign in with your Temporary ID, or your Student ID (beginning with 600) once it is issued.
- Forgotten your ID or password? Use Forgot ID or Password on the sign-in page.
- Quote your ID whenever you contact the University about your application.
- Check your Tasks / To-Do List regularly and complete outstanding requirements on time.
- Upload extra documents under Tasks → Online Application: Additional Documents.
- The Admissions Office may email you a letter listing any outstanding documents or tests.
- Keep your contact details up to date: you are responsible for notifying the University of changes.
Step 6
Admission Decision and Seat Confirmation
Admission is competitive and depends on meeting all requirements and on program capacity.
- You will be notified through the portal and by email.
- Offers made before final high school results are conditional on your final transcript and, where applicable, the MoEHE equivalency letter.
- To secure your seat in the program, log into the Applicant Self-Service Portal and ACCEPT or DECLINE your offer by the deadline stated in your offer letter.
- If you do not respond by that deadline, your acceptance will be revoked and your application will be closed.
- After accepting, confirm your seat, complete any remaining requirements and follow the registration instructions.
Pay the seat confirmation fee to secure your place:
- QAR 500 for local applicants
- QAR 1,800 for international applicants
Pay before the deadline in your offer letter.
