UDST Financial Incentives for Graduate Students

These incentives are designed to recognize academic excellence, support teaching and learning, and promote lifelong learning and continuing education, while providing financial assistance where needed.

Merit-Based Tuition Waiver

A tuition fee reduction of up to 25% is awarded to high-achieving final-year or final-semester UDST undergraduate students who plan to progress into graduate programs.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant holds a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale)

• Applicant is a resident of Qatar

• Applicant is in the final semester of a UDST undergraduate degree

Required Documents

• Acceptance or conditional acceptance letter from UDST

• Statement of Justification (350–400 words)

• Most recent official academic transcript

• CV outlining achievements

• Copy of valid QID

Academic Awards
Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTAs)

A competitive opportunity for graduate students to receive financial support while contributing to teaching and academic activities. Students may apply either during the graduate admissions process or after starting their program. 

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant has a minimum GPA of 3.5–4.0, based on their most recent degree (e.g., Bachelor’s) or current Master’s cGPA if already enrolled.

• Full or conditional graduate acceptance letter (if not already enrolled)

• Most recent academic transcript

• Statement of Justification (350–400 words)

• Reference letter

• Current CV

Alumni Tuition Waiver

A tuition fee reduction of up to 25% is offered to UDST alumni pursuing graduate studies. This incentive recognizes the continued commitment of graduates to their academic and professional development and supports their transition into postgraduate education. 

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant has held a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) in a UDST Bachelor’s degree

• Applicant is a resident of Qatar

• Applicant holds a Bachelor’s degree from UDST

Required Documents

• Acceptance or conditional acceptance letter from UDST

• Statement of Justification (350–400 words)

• Academic transcript for UDST Bachelor’s degree

• Reference letter

• Current CV

• Copy of valid QID

• Salary certificate and last 3 months bank statement

Students Orientation
Need-Based Financial Aid

Financial support of up to 25% is provided to academically qualified external applicants who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is designed to reduce financial barriers for students with strong academic potential, ensuring they have the opportunity to pursue graduate studies. 

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant holds a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale)

• Applicant is a resident of Qatar

• Applicant is an external student and has not previously completed any degree-level qualification at UDST

Required Documents

• Acceptance or conditional acceptance letter from UDST

• Statement of Justification (350–400 words)

• Academic transcript of most recent degree

• Reference letter

• Copy of valid QID

• Copy of valid QID for all dependents (if any)

• Income verification showing family income is QAR 12,000 or less
