Dealing with Official Alerts

  1. Take all national emergency alerts issued through official channels seriously and follow the instructions immediately.
  2. Rely only on official sources for updates and do not share rumors or unverified information.
  3. Follow the instructions of the competent authorities and your workplace's safety and security teams.

Safe Conduct Inside Buildings

  1. Remain inside the building during any precautionary alert and stay calm.
  2. Avoid open courtyards and exposed outdoor areas.
  3. Stay away from windows, glass facades, and other exposed surfaces.
  4. If possible, shelter on the ground floor or in interior corridors, away from glass ceilings.
  5. Keep away from energy sources and flammable materials.
  6. Limit unnecessary movement between floors or buildings.

Movement and Evacuation Inside the Facility

  1. Familiarize yourself with emergency exits, evacuation routes, and assembly points.
  2. Use stairways and emergency exits instead of elevators during alerts or evacuations.
  3. Avoid pushing or overcrowding while moving to designated safe areas.

In Case of an Explosion or Sudden Incident

  1. If you are outside when an explosion occurs, move immediately to the nearest safe area inside the building.
  2. Remain in the designated safe area until the competent authorities confirm that it is safe to leave.
     

Handling Suspicious Objects and Hazards

  1. Report any suspicious object or unusual activity immediately through the designated channels or to the competent authorities.
  2. Do not approach or touch any suspicious objects, shrapnel, or unidentified items.


 

Institutional Discipline on Campus

  1. Do not photograph incidents, locations, or security procedures, or share them on social media.
  2. Know the emergency contact numbers and your organization's communication procedures.
  3. Cooperate fully with safety and security personnel and follow their instructions at all times.

Medical Emergency

  1. Call 4495 2999. The operator will request essential information from you and call for the correct assistance.
  2. If the individual is unconscious or not breathing ask operator to have defibrillator (AED) and first aid kit brought to the scene.
  3. The operator can call an ambulance and the campus nurse or a back-up first aid person to the scene to assist.
  4. Only trained first aid persons should provide first aid assistance.
  5. Ask Security staff or nearby people to help as needed.
  6. Hand over first aid responsibility to the ambulance or nurse upon their arrival.
  7. Fill out the required first aid/incident report.

Power Outage

  1. Turn off computers and other electrical equipment.
  2. Move carefully to a lighted area.
  3. Help others if they need help.
  4. Report the outage to Security at 4495 2999.

Hazardous Material Spill

  1. Call Security at 4495 2999.
  2. Leave the contaminated area and go to a safe location.
  3. Tell others to stay away from the hazardous area.
  4. Follow the instructions of the Warden or Security.
  5. Tell the Security if you have been exposed to the hazard.

Evacuation Information

  1. Use the nearest safe exit.
  2. Do not use elevators.
  3. Take your personal belongings (keys, passports, wallet etc.)
  4. Follow the instructions of the Warden or Security.
  5. Help others who have special needs, if trained.
  6. Go to the Emergency Assembly or Muster Point immediately.
  7. Do not leave the campus.
  8. Stay at the Assembly Point until the Campus Fire Marshal gives the 'all-clear' to return into the building.

Earthquake

  1. Drop, cover, and hold on until the shaking stops.
  2. Get under a desk, a table and cover your head. Do not stand in a doorway.
  3. After the shaking stops, check yourself and others for injuries.
  4. The Warden or Security will assess for damage and determine if evacuation is necessary and what route is best.
  5. Follow the instructions from your Warden or Security.

Fire

  1. Activate the nearest fire alarm.
  2. Evacuate the building and go immediately to the Assembly Point.
  3. Do not leave campus.
  4. Call Security at 4495 2999.
  5. Do not re-enter the building until the Campus Fire Marshal gives the 'all-clear' signal.

Suspicious Object

  1. Do not touch the object.
  2. Notify your supervisor and any nearby workers of object.
  3. Call 4495 2999.
  4. Move away from the object and be ready to evacuate the area if Building Warden or Security advises to do so.

Suspicious Person

  1. Do not try to stop the person.
  2. Do not block the person's access to an exit.
  3. Call Security at 4495 2999 to report unauthorized person.
  4. Give a description of the person and their location and direction they are going.
