Dr. Ehab Saleh
Director of the Centre of Excellence in 3D printing and Additive Manufacturing (CEAM)

For the past 13 years, Dr Ehab has worked on developing digital manufacturing processes for the fourth industrial revolution (IR4.0) utilizing multi-materials to form integrated 3D printed structures containing metals, polymers and glasses. 
His research activities span across multi-disciplines including the development of manufacturing processes for printed electronics and energy harvesting/storage applications, 3D printing of RF meta-materials and THz components, bio-printing using medical-grade materials and digitally manufactured controlled release pharmaceutics.
Dr Saleh has contributed to the development of research grants of over USD 9M awarded by Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council (QRDI), UK Research and Innovation Council (UKRI), Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (dstl) and UK Space Agency (UKSA). He is a reviewer of several pronounced journals, and regularly invited to deliver keynote talks on smart manufacturing in international events such as the IEEE Workshop on Additive Manufacturing in Tokyo - Japan, CoInnovate Flagship in Cardiff - Wales and TCT Summit in Shenzhen – China.

Dr. Ali Sardar
Dr. Sardar Ali
Research Scientist 

Dr. Sardar Ali is an instructor and researcher at the College of Engineering and Technology at the University of Doha for Science and Technology. He previously served as a senior researcher at the Gas Processing Center, Qatar University. Dr. Ali earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from University Technology PETRONAS, Malaysia, and brings over a decade of experience in academic and industrial research and development. His expertise lies in chemical and catalytic processes, with a focus on CO2 capture, chemical sequestration, decarbonization, and gas-to-liquid (GTL) technologies. He has contributed extensively to the field, authoring more than 30 refereed journal articles, numerous conference papers, and securing six U.S. patents. At UDST, his current research centers on the development of 3D-printed monoliths for diverse catalytic applications.

Dr. Syed Shujaa Safdar Gardezi
Associate Professor in Construction Engineering

Dr. Shujaa brings extensive experience from academia, industry, and professional service, and is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) and certified Building Information Modeling (BIM) professional. Throughout his career, he has held leadership and administrative roles and contributed significantly to accreditation, curriculum development, quality assurance, and institutional management initiatives. His research focuses on sustainable construction, BIM-based energy optimization, carbon footprint assessment, life cycle assessment, 3D concrete printing, construction safety, and machine learning applications in construction. He has published widely, established research collaborations, and received certain awards for research excellence, including the Prominent Publication Award from the Faculty of Engineering at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in 2017. Before entering academia, he worked as a Resident Engineer and Senior Engineer at National Engineering Services Pakistan, a leading engineering consultancy organization in Pakistan.

Dr. Rizwan Saeed Choudhry 

Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering

Dr. Rizwan is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Doha for Science and Technology, specializing in advanced composite materials, stress engineering, and additive manufacturing. With nearly two decades of post-PhD experience, he is recognized for translating fundamental mechanics into practical, industry-driven solutions.

His research integrates finite element analysis, composite design, and failure engineering, with over 80 high-impact publications. At UDST, he advances additive manufacturing for sustainable and multifunctional materials, focusing on topology optimization to enhance the structural performance of sandwich composites with 3D-printed cores, enabling next-generation lightweight structures.

Dr. Elyor Kodirov
Assistant Professor in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Dr. Elyor Kodirov holds a PhD in Computer Science from Queen Mary University of London (2017), with expertise spanning machine learning, computer vision, and AI-driven robotic automation. His current research develops sim-to-real and real-to-sim methods for robotic manipulation, integrating vision-language-action models, scene understanding, and large language models for autonomous task planning, validated in high-fidelity simulation before deployment to physical hardware. Prior to UDST, he was Lead Machine Learning Researcher at Opentrons Labworks, where he shipped a commercial LLM-driven protocol generator used by over 600 scientists, following research roles at Neochromosome, and Zenith AI. He has delivered invited talks at SLAS, AstraZeneca, TUM, and UCL, and is interested in intelligent process control and automation for additive manufacturing.

Dr Mahmoud AlSayed
Dr. Mahmoud Alsayed
Associate Professor in Accounting & Finance

Dr. Mahmoud Alsayed is an academic and accounting professional with teaching, research, and leadership experience in business, accounting, sustainability, and innovation. His research interests include management accounting, sustainability accounting, circular economy, digital transformation, manufacturing sector costing, and the role of innovation in improving organisational performance and decision-making. He has contributed to curriculum development, quality assurance, accreditation-related activities, and industry engagement, with a strong focus on linking business education to emerging technological and industrial developments.  Dr. Alsayed brings a business and accounting perspective to manufacturing innovation, including cost management, value creation, business models, sustainability, and the commercialisation of advanced technologies.

Dr. Mustapha
Dr. Mustafa Almuqbel 
Assistant Professor in Medical Imaging

Dr. Mustafa Almuqbel is an Assistant Professor in the Medical Imaging Department at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST). He holds a PhD in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) from the University of Otago, School of Medicine, New Zealand. Dr. Almuqbel combines extensive clinical and academic experience in advanced MRI, with expertise spanning both research and healthcare settings. His interests include advanced MRI acquisition and post-processing methods, particularly resting-state functional MRI, diffusion tensor imaging, arterial spin labeling, and proton MR spectroscopy. Dr. Almuqbel is highly proficient in neuroimaging analysis platforms, including FreeSurfer, FSL, SPM, CONN, and 3D Slicer; as well as scientific programming in MATLAB, R, and Python. He actively mentors graduate-level physicians, medical students, radiographers, and medical physicists, supporting the development of future imaging professionals and researchers. His research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals and focuses on MRI optimization, neuroimaging biomarkers, motion correction techniques, imaging artifacts, and breast implant imaging.

Dr. Umberto Demoner Ramos
Assistant Professor of Periodontology

Dr. Umberto Demoner Ramos is an Assistant Professor of Periodontology at the University of Doha for Science and Technology and a Visiting Professor of Periodontics at the Federal University of Espírito Santo, Brazil. He previously led research and development projects for the North American market at S.I.N. Implant Systems, contributing to implant-system development, surgical tooling, and clinical and laboratory validation. He holds a PhD and MSc in Dentistry from the University of São Paulo. His expertise relevant to 3D printing includes prototyping, product development, digital dentistry workflows, and the development of prosthetic solutions for digital applications. His work also encompasses clinical applications using 3D printing, supporting the integration of additive manufacturing into dental and healthcare workflows.

Dr Rabab
Dr. Rabab Benotsmane
Assistant Professor in Automation and Control Systems

Dr. Rabab Benotsmane holds a PhD in Robotics from the University of Miskolc, Hungary, earned in 2021. Her expertise covers dynamic modelling, controller design, robotic manipulation, surgical robotics, and intelligent autonomous systems. She has strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in robotics, UAV applications, and AI-driven automation.

Her research focuses on AI-based autonomous systems, integrating machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision for perception, decision-making, trajectory planning, and control in robotic and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle platforms. She has also worked on robotic manipulation and robotics for surgery, including kinematic modelling, trajectory generation, control, and intelligent robotic systems for precise and safe operations.

Dr Sulayman
Dr. Sulayman Oladepo
Associate Professor in Chemistry

Dr. Sulayman Oladepo received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Alberta. He was a Postdoctoral Visiting Fellow at CanmetEnergy, Natural Resources Canada. Dr. Oladepo joined King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals Saudi Arabia as an Assistant Professor in 2015 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2021. He led several funded research projects, including a recent project funded by Saudi Aramco. He joined University of Doha for Science and Technology in the fall of 2024 as an Associate Professor of Chemistry. His current research interests include sensor development, materials chemistry, green chemistry, and catalyzed conversion of waste into useful end products. He has several publications in various peer-reviewed journals, one issued and three pending US patents. He has also presented his work at several national and international conferences. Dr. Oladepo is currently the Assistant Dean, Research and Graduate Studies in the College of General Education at UDST.

Mr. Loay
Mr. Luay Hussein
Instructor of Mechanical Engineering

Mr. Hussein holds a Masters of Technology and a Bachelor’s of Mechanical Engineering, both from Canada, a Harvard educational Leadership Certification and a Provincial Instructor Diploma from Vancouver Community College.  He is also an Agile Certified Professional.  Luay has been awarded Recognition as a teacher at CNAQ, and the Education Innovation Award from UDST.

As Mechanical Engineering Instructor, he has experience in both the educational and engineering fields. With a passion for fostering growth in educational institutions, students, and faculty, Luay excels in program/curriculum development, course development, and administrative support. His achievements include the supervision of award-winning projects and commitment to community community involvement; provisional patent for educational materials, that are purely 3D printed.
