UDST distributes Iftar meals to workers on campus in collaboration with Qatar Charity

The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), in collaboration with its Qatari Student Association and Qatar Charity, served 500 Iftar meals to campus workers across various divisions, including security, housekeeping, and maintenance. This initiative, organized during Ramadan, aimed to express gratitude and foster community spirit. Students enthusiastically packed and distributed meals, embodying the values of kindness and giving back. UDST President, Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, emphasized the importance of instilling philanthropy and solidarity in students, particularly during Ramadan, to prepare them for impactful societal contributions. Qatar Charity, a key partner, praised the collaboration, highlighting Iftar’s significance in promoting unity and compassion. The initiative also addressed the challenges shift workers face during Ramadan, reaffirming their valued role within the UDST community. This successful effort reflects UDST’s commitment to fostering empathy, service, and goodwill among its students, faculty, and staff, reinforcing the spirit of Ramadan and the importance of collective well-being.

Participating in the World Food Forum to Address Global Food Security

UDST actively participated in the World Food Forum (WFF), organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipality and the FAO. The event gathered global stakeholders to explore innovative solutions for sustainable agrifood systems and food security challenges. UDST contributed to discussions on key topics such as food investment, science and innovation, youth engagement, family farming, indigenous food systems, and water management. These conversations highlighted the importance of collaboration in promoting sustainable practices, strengthening both local and international capacity, and advancing Qatar’s National Vision 2030.
