UDST and Huawei Jointly Launch State-of-the-Art AI ICT Academy Lab

In collaboration with Huawei, UDST proudly launched the AI ICT Academy Lab on February 15, 2024, marking a significant advancement in Qatar’s educational landscape. The inauguration was attended by key government officials from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and other stakeholders, highlighting the importance of public-private partnerships in advancing AI capabilities in Qatar. The AI ICT Academy Lab aims to bridge the AI powered digital divide and upskill students to drive innovation and support Qatar’s digital future. Aligned with Qatar’s National AI Strategy, the lab focuses on six pillars: education, data access, employment, business, research, and ethics. The opening ceremony featured an AI Avatar, symbolizing the intersection of technology and education, showcasing the transformative potential of AI in revolutionizing learning and empowering the next generation of digital ambassadors.
Skills Day 2024: A Showcase of Innovation and Applied Learning

University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) hosted its largest co-curricular event, Skills Day, celebrating innovation, collaboration, and applied learning. Featuring over 60 competitions and activities in fields including engineering, technology, computing, health sciences, business, and academics, Skills Day provided a platform for students to immerse themselves in real-world challenges while developing problem-solving skills. The event emphasized collaboration, allowing students to work alongside peers and faculty, fostering teamwork essential for future success in an interconnected professional world. Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, UDST President, highlighted the event’s importance, stating that it showcased the students’ preparedness to apply their knowledge to drive real-world change. He also noted that UDST aligns its programs with evolving industry needs to ensure students are ready to excel in their chosen fields. Over 340 students participated in challenges ranging from engineering and cybersecurity to artificial intelligence, programming, and healthcare. UDST also welcomed hundreds of secondary school students, offering them a firsthand look at the competitions and hands-on STEM activities. The event’s culmination on March 6 will celebrate the winners with medals and certificates, reflecting UDST’s dedication to academic and applied learning excellence and its mission to create a thriving, innovative learning community

Earning this certification reinforces PSC’s reputation as a leader in technical and professional training, skilling, reskilling, and upskilling the workforce to meet the needs of local industries.
