Dr. Oussama Djedidi

Dr. Djedidi holds a PhD in Computer Engineering and Automation and is a Senior Data Scientist with expertise in the semiconductor, sensor, and glass industries. With a strong record in R&D, he specializes in AI-driven process control and implementing digital twins, contributing to advancements in data-driven models for process automation, real-time control algorithms in glass manufacturing, and sensor-based pollution detection. His research emphasizes applied machine learning, control engineering, and advanced modeling in smart systems.

Dr Mohamed-Rafik Bouguelia

An Associate Professor in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence since August 2025 at the College of Computing and IT, University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), Qatar. Before that, he was an Associate Professor of Machine Learning and Docent (Habilitation to Direct Research) at the School of Information Technology, Halmstad University, Sweden. He was a member of the Center for Applied Intelligent Systems Research (CAISR) and the Department of Intelligent Systems. He joined Halmstad University in 2015 as a Researcher, became an Assistant Professor in 2018, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2021. Prior to that, he was a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Lorraine (France) and the INRIA research center, where he earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science, specializing in Machine Learning and AI. He holds two MSc degrees in Computer Science: one from USTHB University (Algeria) in 2010 and another from the University of Lorraine (France) in 2011. His research focuses on meta-learning, transfer learning, interactive machine learning, anomaly detection, deep representation learning, and related machine learning topics, with applications across various domains. Throughout his career, he has contributed extensively to research, education, and program development. He led the creation of the Applied Artificial Intelligence BSc program in 2022 at Halmstad University (Sweden), serving as its program manager (2022–2025), and has also managed the AI/ML track of professional education programs designed for industry professionals. Additionally, he is actively involved in supervising MSc and PhD students across various research projects and has taught a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses.

Dr. Zakaria Maamar

Zakaria Maamar is a professor in and dean of the College of Computing and IT at University of Doha for Science and Technology in Doha, State of Qatar. His research interests include service computing, digital rights management, and Internet of (cognitive) Things. Zakaria received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from Laval University, Quebec City, QC, Canada.
