University of Doha for Science and Technology signs a cooperation agreement with the Education Above All Foundation to Support Students from Gaza

University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) announced the signing of a partnership agreement with the Education Above All Foundation, a global education institution, in a collaborative effort to provide educational opportunities, through the Al Fakhoora Programme, for students affected by the recent crisis in Gaza. This announcement was made in a formal ceremony attended by Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, President of UDST, and Mr. Fahad Al-Sulaiti, CEO of Education Above All Foundation.

Under this agreement, UDST will welcome high-achieving students from universities in Gaza whose academic pursuits were interrupted due to the destruction of their universities. This initiative underscores UDST's commitment to educational inclusivity and support for students in crisis.

These students will join various bachelor programs offered by the College of Engineering and Technology, the College of Computing and Information Technology, as well as, the College of Health Sciences.

In his speech, Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, President of UDST expressed the University’s dedication to this cause: "We are deeply committed to supporting these students who have faced immense challenges. We firmly support our government's stance in denouncing the horrors occurring in Gaza to prevent further suffering of innocent individuals. We hope that through our academic programs and support, these students will not only continue their educational journey but also achieve excellence. We believe in empowering students to rebuild and transform their lives, and this partnership with Education Above All is a step towards making that belief a reality."

Talal Al Hothal, Director of Al Fakhoora a Programme of Education Above All Foundation, Said, "This partnership with UDST is a testament to our joint commitment to ensuring that education remains an unbroken right, even in the face of adversity. These students represent the resilience and potential of youth. By supporting them, we are not only investing in their future but also contributing to the rebuilding of communities through the power of education."

UDST's gesture is more than just an educational opportunity; it's a sign of hope and solidarity, demonstrating the power of education in overcoming adversity. Through this agreement, UDST and Education Above All Foundation are setting an example for universities worldwide to take actionable steps in supporting students in conflict zones.
