Dr. Reyad Mohsen, MD FCAP

Senior Consultant Oncologist and the Clinical Lead of Thoracic Oncology at the National Center for Cancer Care and Research

Dr. Reyad Mohsen is also an American Board Certified in Internal Medicine – Hematology and Oncology.

Graduated from Ain Shams University Medical School, Cairo, Egypt, 1979. Worked in HGH Internal Medicine and Cardiology 1982-1994. Internal Medicine Residency and Hem/Onc Fellowship at Seton Hall University/NJ 1994-2001. Private practice and teaching attending at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center/ NJ 2001-2007. Sr. Consultant Oncologist UAE 2007-2014. Sr. Consultant Oncologist at NCCCR/HMC 2014 – present. Medical Oncology Fellowship PD at HMC from 2020- to the current.

Dr. Fares Al-Ejeh , Senior Scientist

Dr. Al-Ejeh was awarded his Bachelor of Biotechnology then his Ph.D. in 2005 from the University of Wollongong (NSW, Australia). His first post-doctoral position at the Royal Adelaide Hospital/Hanson Institute (Adelaide, Australia) was industry-funded and led to a spin-off company, Oncaidia Ltd (2005 – 2009). This work led to developing Apomab®, an antibody for cancer diagnosis and therapy which has been licensed to Telix Pharmaceuticals in 2019 and is currently in Phase II clinical trials. 

Dr. Al-Ejeh entered academic research by joining QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute (Brisbane, Australia) in 2010 as senior research officer. He was awarded the prestigious Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellowship in 2014. Dr. Al-Ejeh established his own group, Personalised Medicine, in 2015 at QIMR Berghofer. He was selected as a Mentee and Associate Member of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (AAHMS) in 2017. 

Dr. Al-Ejeh joined Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI) in October 2019 as a senior scientist to lead a research group focused on translational research in breast cancer. His track record includes four published patents, three provisional patents, and more than 50 peer-reviewed publications. He has been developing diagnostics and targeted therapies against aggressive breast cancer using integrative and interdisciplinary approaches. 

 

Dr Reem

Dr. Reem Jawad A A Al Sulaiman , Consultant Genetic Counselor

Medical Oncology Assistant Professor Interim Deputy Chair, Medical Genetics Department Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar

Dr. Reem is Consultant in Genetic Counseling with subspeciality in Medical Oncology and the interim Deputy Chair for the Medical Genetics Department at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in the State of Qatar. In addition to her clinical and leadership roles in medical genetics, Dr Reem is also Assistant Professor and respected teaching faculty and the clinical lead of the National Genetic Counseling Program at the Qatar University. Additionally, Dr Reem serves as Assistant chair of the Rare Disease MDT and Research Committee (Doha-Heidelberg) at HMC, the vice president of Qatar Network of medical genetics and a member of Qatar Precision Medicine Institute’s (QPMI) Clinical Council and member of the National Qatar Genome Project Committee (QGP). Dr Reem had completed her clinical training and fellowship in genetic counseling from Sarah Lawrence College in New York and was trained in different subspecialties of genetics including prenatal, pediatrics, adult and cancer genetics. Dr. Reem was trained in multiple prestigious institutions in New York including Memorial Sloan Kettering, New York Presbyterian and Columbia Medical Centre. Dr. Reem then achieved the American board of genetic counselling and became the first Qatari national board-certified genetic counselor in the country. Dr. Reem also received her PhD in cancer counselling and psychotherapy from University of Wales, Regents College in London and her research was honored as one of the 100 breakthroughs in the UK in 2018. Dr. Reem has multiple prestigious publications in the field of pediatrics and adult clinical and cancer genetics with special interest in rare disorders.

 

Dr Maryam

Dr. Mariam Ibrahim Al-Mass

Community Medicine Senior Consultant 

For the past 16 years Dr. Maryam has dedicated her professional life to Qatars health sector where she is currently a Community Medicine Senior Consultant at Primary Health Care Corporation working within Preventive Health, Heading up the Design & Implementation section of PHCCs Screening Programs Department.

After graduating from university in 2005, Dr. Maryam completed her internship and medicine residency program at Qatars Hamad Medical Corporation, focusing her recent career journey towards Qatars Cancer Care Continuum.

Dr. Maryam has also had the privilege of contributing towards several of Qatars national strategies, particularly delivery of the National Cancer Strategy and has participated within the development of PHCCs National Strategy.

Dr. Maryam regularly presents and speaks at health conferences and symposiums across Qatar and does her best to stay engaged with the latest health developments having attended more than forty conferences and workshops across Qatar and the region.

Finally, Dr. Maryam has also completed two research studies one of which looked at Iron Deficiency anemia in Arab Pregnant women and the other which studied the uptake of Cervical Cancer Screening for women aged between 25 and 64 years.

 

Dr.Noor

Dr. Noor Ahmed Al-Khori

Attending Radiologist, Sidra Medicine, Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology, WCM

Dr. Noor Al-Khori graduated from Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar in 2010. She completed her residency in Radiology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine (NYPH/WCM) in New York City followed by a fellowship in Breast Imaging at NYPH. She then pursued a Pediatric Radiology fellowship at Stanford Children's Hospital at Stanford, California. She is currently working as a Consultant in Women’s and Children’s Imaging at Sidra Medicine, where she also serves as Quality Lead in the Department of Radiology.

Dr. Al-Khori is also an active Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. Dr. Al-Khori has a Master of Science in Health Economics and Policy from the London School of Economics, a Master of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and an Executive MBA from HEC Parsi. In addition, she holds a Certificate in Safety, Quality, Informatics and Leadership from Harvard Medical School. 

 

Dr Adham

Dr Adham Darweesh, Senior consultant radiologist

Head of Clinical Imaging Department at HMGH

Dr Adham Darweesh is a Senior consultant radiologist at Hamad Medical Corporation , specialized in GI&GU imaging. He is the Chief of Body imaging Section and the Head of Clinical Imaging Department at HMGH as well as the fellowship program director. 

Dr Darweesh received his medical degree (MD) from the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia in 1993 and his specialty degree FRCR from The Royal College of Radiologists in London in 2005 and Jordanian Board of diagnostic radiology in Amman 2005. He has been trained in different countries and institutions; including Palestine, London, Boston and Hamad medical corporation. Dr Adham is a core faculty of the residency program and is the deputy program director. He is also an A/professor of Clinical Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College - Qatar as well as a Core Member of various MDTs and Core Member of National Clinical Advisory Group (NCAG) for gastrointestinal and thyroid cancer

Dr. Adham has significant contributions in research. He is the principal investigator of more than one granted research project, and he is co-investigator in more than 6 approved research studies. He has a good number of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
