The 9th International Symposium on Bioinformatics (InSyB2025)
Event Date(s): 25-26 November 2025
Venue: University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), Qatar
InSyB2025
The 9th International Symposium on Bioinformatics 2025 (InSyB2025) is to be hosted at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), Qatar, from 25-26 November 2025. InSyB2025 aims to strengthen local and regional capacity in bioinformatics through a short thematic symposium, community engagement, and collaborative exchange. The theme for InSyB2025 is “Ecosystem-Driven Bioinformatics for Transforming Healthcare.”
As a flagship initiative of the Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNET; https://www.apbionet.org), InSyB2025 contributes to its mission to promote bioinformatics development, awareness, and collaboration across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
InSyB2025 Specific Objectives
Since its inception in 2017, InSyB has established itself as a high-impact, agile forum by addressing region-specific opportunities and challenges in bioinformatics development.
The specific objectives of InSyB 2025 include:
1. Capacity Building: Provide focused thematic sessions to build bioinformatics capacity across diverse communities where the field is still emerging (Qatar and the GCC).
2. Knowledge Sharing: Present emerging research, tools, and technologies through carefully curated symposia featuring local, regional, and international experts.
3. Promoting Local and Regional Collaboration: Foster academic and research collaborations within Qatar and across the region bioinformatics communities.
4. Accessible Participation: Design the symposium format to be inclusive and accessible, encouraging participation from early-career researchers, students, and institutions with limited resources.
5. Diversity in Scientific Themes: Highlight a range of bioinformatics applications including health, agriculture, environment, and artificial intelligence, reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of the field.
6. Engaging Keynotes and Panels: Feature plenary talks and panel discussions with thought leaders in bioinformatics, offering insights into current trends and future directions.
7. Strategic Networking Opportunities: Facilitate meaningful interactions among researchers, educators, and stakeholders to build sustainable networks and partnerships.
8. Showcasing Qatar’s Research Landscape: Utilize the unique setting of UDST and its Centre of Excellence in Bioinformatics to highlight Qatar’s growing bioinformatics ecosystem and its integration into regional and international scientific agendas.
