The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) hosted members from the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities as part of the Is’ham Initiative, aimed at empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism through real-life educational and employment experiences. Participants engaged in training and job shadowing across university departments, gaining valuable exposure to professional environments and developing workplace confidence and independence. The initiative reflects UDST’s dedication to inclusive education, diversity, and community collaboration.
Hosting Film Festival Highlighting Inclusion on Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)

UDST hosts the first edition of “Nafath Majlis” organized by MADA

UDST sponsored the first edition of “Nafath Majlis,” titled “Interdisciplinary Synergies: Pioneering Advances in Assistive Technologies and Digital Accessibility,” launched by Mada Assistive Technology Center of the Ministry of Social Development and Family. The event focused on digital accessibility and assistive technology, promoting inclusivity for people with disabilities to enhance independence and integration into society. Nafath Majlis is a quarterly series of events and workshops, accompanied by the “Nafath” journal, showcasing relevant research. UDST’s sponsorship, as part of its strategic partnership with Mada Center, highlights its commitment to supporting digital inclusivity, research, and innovations in assistive technology. The University also recognizes the critical role of technology in education, investing in assistive tools and alternative formats to ensure all students, including those with disabilities, can fully engage in their studies, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
UDST announces the Amiri Scholarship Program

UDST is proud to announce the prestigious Amiri Scholarship, designed to support exceptional students from Qatar and around the world. Aligned with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, the scholarship promotes educational excellence and innovation, particularly in applied STEM fields. This scholarship offers a range of benefits, including full tuition coverage for a Bachelor’s degree, health insurance, a monthly stipend, textbook fee waivers, accommodation, transportation, and visa processing support for international students. Additionally, international students will receive an annual round-trip economy class ticket. The Amiri Scholarship also encourages global students to experience Qatar’s diverse, multicultural society, fostering creativity and crosscultural exchange
UDST Leads Fundraising Efforts in Charity Week 2024

UDST secured the top position in fundraising during Charity Week 2024, raising an outstanding QAR 114,753.25. This marks the second consecutive year the university has led fundraising efforts among participating educational institutions in Qatar. Charity Week is a global initiative supporting orphans and underserved children, aligning with Islamic and humanitarian values, and is organized in Qatar in collaboration with Education Above All. Over 23 institutions participated in the event. UDST’s week-long fundraising was spearheaded by students in collaboration with the Student Engagement Department, offering creative activities that united the UDST community. This achievement underscores UDST’s commitment to social responsibility and its capacity to inspire collaboration and generosity. The total raised across Qatar was QAR 349,864.81, reflecting the collective impact of schools, colleges, and universities.
