College of Business

COB

The College of Business is a leading business school in the region, offering Diploma, Bachelor and Master’s degree programs across several areas: accounting and finance, banking and financial technology, healthcare management, human resource management, logistics & supply chain management and digital marketing.

Each business program is aligned with relevant professional associations and is developed in close collaboration with senior business managers. Programs are designed to ensure that the knowledge, skills, and competencies are developed in alignment with industry and State needs as well as trending global business developments.

CB faculty draw on a range of direct industry and research experience in the development and delivery of their classes. Courses are taught in an applied experiential manner that fully engages students in their learning. All Undergraduate programs also include a required Work Placement, providing students with hands-on, in-field, work experience. To enhance the applied nature of our programs, the College operates an in-house trading room and financial lab workspace in cooperation with LSEG Refinitiv, with a live feed from the Qatar Stock Exchange. This on-site Financial Centre is designed to promote an understanding of how the local economy is interconnected with the global economy and provides an opportunity for students to interact with emerging financial technologies.

College of Business FAQ’S

The college provides additional academic assistance to students through the Accounting Help Center and the Business Help Center. In addition, our faculty have office hours in their schedule where students can meet one-on-one to discuss matters related to their coursework.

Students will be assigned Academic Advisors to support with planning their future courses, providing academic advice, adding/dropping courses and any other enquiries.

All students are required to complete the work placement course to graduate. Students working in their study discipline or who have worked in their study discipline can speak to their Department Head to determine if they qualify for a Prior Learning Assessment Recognition (PLAR) exemption form the work placement course.

Students can contact Ms. Fasleena Mullampalath, Student Counselling Specialist, who is the focal point for the College of Business special accommodation requests. The Counsellor will then coordinate with the College to arrange the necessary accommodations.
